SOL Dynamic ARF
|
Following SOL's tradition of bringing real improvements to new products, the new Dynamic AR comes with more performance, better thermalling and the responsibility of substituting the Dynamic.
A highly competitive glider, the Dynamic established new limits and was well known worldwide as the first paraglider to fly over 400 km.
Our new glider gathers all the best characteristics of its class, in an innovative design and a modern manufacturing process. Dynamic AR is aimed at both competition and XC pilots.
Pilot and Behaviour During Flight
Dynamic AR is aimed at an experienced and restrict group of pilots, who strive for best results in competitions and XC flights. Nothing was spared to obtain this really competitive paraglider, with excellent flight handling, stability and safety.
With a real improvement in efficiency and precision in curves, Dynamic AR reaches a new level in competition wings. One can distinguish it from other top gliders by its balance between efficiency and performance, which allows a great climb rate even in small thermals.
Design and Construction
A new generation of profiles (completely developed with computer simulated models), a new platform and frontal section have been designed to achieve an exceptional glide at maximum speed. This enables the pilot a full use of the speed system while maintaining a high pressure in the wing especially at the wing tips. The layout of the Dynamic is entirely new.
The cell width gets smaller as you go from the centre to the wing tip. The space between each block of cells remains the same due to a vector strap sewn between each profile/line attachment. The three-level suspension lines have been optimised to reduce drag and make it easier to untangle.
The new FD0911 developed with NCV Porcher Marine is a light high performance and high durability fabric - two years of tests were needed to reach 40 gr/sm and very good aging process qualities. The new Edelried Aramid lines with low elasticity and better abrasion resistance give more precision on the trim. This combination allows excellent performance even after 200 flight hours.
Construction Characteristics
- Extremely detailed construction with 79 cells, 16 closed (3 x 23 + 10) and diagonal A, B, C and D bands result in a really clean and precise glider;
- Full V-V rib technology;
- Unit cell structure with two non-carrying ribs and diagonal segmented ribs;
- Line set is safety oriented for performance and low deformation;
- Profile reinforcement in Diax 120 P Mylar/Carbon Composite;
- 4 risers with split A risers for progressive speed system;
- All the sewing and stitching is internal;
- The leading edge is reinforced with a Dacron® tape;
- The trailing edge is reinforced with Kevlar and Dacron®;
- Refined line attach points;
- Trimmers for slow speed allow minimum sink rate turns and optimal thermal handling.
All materials used were carefully chosen to guarantee a long durability and a high level of safety. All SOL paragliders are produced in SOL's own DHV certified factory.
Flight Characteristics
- Very easy inflation and ground handling;
- Excellent takeoff characteristics (even in nil wind);
- Comfortable handling and climb rate;
- Excellent sink rate;
- High speed range;
- Exceptional glide with accelerator;
- Very flat polar curve;
- Very stable at full speed.
